Finance Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy on Saturday said he has formulated a people-oriented budget keeping the past experiences in view.
Speaking to the media, Anam disclosed that he would present the Budget in the Assembly on March 18 at 10.26 am while his cabinet colleague C. Ramachandraiah would present the Budget in the Legislative Council at the same time. He also disclosed that Agriculture Minister Kanna Lakshminarayana would present “Agricultural Policy Budget” in the Assembly and Minister for Civil Supplies and Legislative Affairs D. Sridhar Babu would do so in the Council.
The Finance Minister said the Budget was formulated in such a way that 22.8 per cent of funds were spent on the welfare of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in accordance with the SC, ST Sub-Plan. He said priority was given to the Jalayagnam during 2013-14 Budget.
