    Can't speak about Telangana

    Kalwakurti (Mahabubnagar), March 24: Union minister S Jaipal Reddy here on Sunday said he had an inseparable bond with the Mahbubnagar district.

    Inaugurating Kalwakurti Lift Irrigation Scheme and participating in several developmental works in the district, Jaipal Reddy said he was always called as “Mahbubnagar Jaipal Reddy” wherever he contested and won. He said he was greatly indebted to the people of Kalwakurthi as he began his political career in the town.

    Describing Kalwakurthi as his political school and one cannot run politics by reading books, Jaipal Reddy said he totally immersed in politics in Kalwakurthi for 17 long years. He reminded that the Kalwakurthi Lift Irrigation project was named as Mahatma Gandhi Lift Irrigation Scheme and was abandoned by late chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

    Stating that he was an ardent Telangana protagonist and striving for separate Telangana State, Jaipal Reddy said he was unable to talk openly about separate State as he was a member of the ruling party.

    When asked about Telangana, he said he could not talk about it, being in the ruling party. He said through the drinking water scheme he has laid foundation on Sunday, 109 villages would get drinking water.

    State Panchayat Raj Minister K. Jana Reddy and Major Irrigation Minister Sudarshan Reddy were also present. Minister for Information & Public Relations D.K. Aruna abstained from the function as she was sore for not being informed about the function in advance. Similarly, another minister from the district Uttam Kumar Reddy also remained absent.
