Actress Dhansika who is playing one of the female leads in the flick 'Paradesi' revealed she had to fast for 6 days at a stretch to look in a particular manner during the shoot of climax portions. Director Bala wants the actress to look thin and extremely hungry for few portions of the climax. So, Dhansika has no other option but to survive on liquids for few days.
Paradesi which released on March 15th (Today) has been receiving rave reviews and the critics have already tagged it as a master piece. Dhansika is receiving accolades for her realistic and subtle performance. The hard work put in seems to have paid off.
Paradesi is based on real life incidents which happened during the 1940s. It shows how the poor villagers were lured to work in a tea estate and how they are forced to lead the life of slaves for the rest of their lives.
