Good news for Jagan in CBI case!

Hyderabad, March 23: Here is some good news for the supporters of the YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. CBI said officially that the final charge-sheet in the case would be filed by the end of March. This would mean that Jagan would be able to file his bail petition in the first week of April or even earlier. It may be recalled that the Supreme Court while directing the CBI to file its final charge-sheet by March end, also asked Jagan not to file his bail application until then. He however filed bail petition both in the CBI court and the high court and failed to get bail.

Though reports have been doing the rounds that CBI would file the final charge-sheet by March end, there was so far no official confirmation. On Saturday, CBI JD Lakshmi Narayana confirmed it.

Lakshmi Narayana said the final charge-sheet in the disproportionate assets case of the YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy would be filed in the last week of this month.

Lakshmi Narayana and other officials of the agency questioned Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao under section 160 of the CRPC at the Dilkusha guest house, the agency’s camp office for 8 hours in the Jagan assets case. KVP went into the guest house at 11 am and came out at 7-30 pm.

Speaking to the media after KVP was questioned, Lakshmi Narayana said the MP replied to their questions. He said they would compare the replies with the information they have and call him again if necessary. He said the agency received some information from the government and would be writing for more details. He also said CBI would file its final charge-sheet in the Jagan assets case in the last week of this month. He also said the agency had not given any notices to any other ministers afresh.

    Only as witness

KVP also spoke to the media after coming out from the guesthouse. He said he was summoned under section 160 of the CROC as a witness. He said he was called by the CBI authorities for some clarifications and that he had given information he knew and cooperated with them.
