Hyderabad, March 22: TDP senior leader Talasani Srinivas Yadav today ruled out the possibility of having any alliance with the MIM.
Talking to the media here, Talasani said his party would prefer getting defeated in the MLC election from the local body constituency, rather than supporting the Majlis candidate.
It may be recalled that Majlis party sought the support of TDP in the MLC election on Thursday. It was even said there might be electoral alliance between the TDP and the MIM, after the no-confidence vote, during which both parties maintained neutrality. Now Talasani is denying that possibility. He, however, said the issue would be discussed with the minority leaders of the party before an official stand was taken.
Talasani lashed out at the government for the power cuts. He said cuts became necessary as the Kiran Kumar Reddy government lacked foresight. He said Vidyut Soudha (Electricity Board's headquarters) would be raided to highlight the power shortage problem.
It may be mentioned here that Majlis MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi met TDP leaders Revanth Reddy and others on Thursday and sought the party's support to MIM candidate. Reports also said a truck between the two parties was possible. It is now being said that though one section of the TDP was in favour of supporting MIM, there was another, including Talasani, opposing it. It is being said the MIM had not assured the TDP that it would not have truck with the YSR Congress in the 2014 elections. It is also being said minority leaders of TDP have opposed truck with the MIM.
Meanwhile, Labour Minister Danam Nagender said it was immoral on the part of the TDP to support MIM. He predicted that a truck between the TDP and MIM was possible like in the past.
Congress party has finalized the name of MS Prabhakar for the MLC election from the Local Bodies’ constituency.
