The scene behind was... While an MLA, Kshitij Thakur was travelling to Assembly on Monday Officer Sachin Suryavamsi had stopped his car at the Bandra-Worli sea link. He had fined the MLA for going in a high speed. On this occasion, blame is that officer had behaved rashly with the MLA. The members of the house had protested severely at this irrespective of the parties and demanded to suspend him from duties. With this, house was adjourned for Five times.
MLAs Ram Kadam, Rajan Salvi, Pradeep Jaiswal and Kshitij Thakur who observed the officer at the visitor's gallery had caught him and bet him up taking to the first floor of the house. Officer Suryavamsi, who was severely injured was taken on a stretcher to Saint George hospital for treatment. Few of the ruling Congress and NCP members have condemned this attack. They commented that the law makers cannot take law into their hands. The opposition party BJP leader Eknath Khadse has demanded to suspend the members from the house involved in the attack till the sessions are closed.
