Hyderabad, March 28: Dark clouds seem to hovering over the Kiran Kumar Reddy ministry as the raging power crisis in the state has united all the opposition parties to come on one platform for a joint struggle against the government.
It was the 10 Left parties including the CPI and CPM which launched the “power struggle” by going an indefinite fast at Indira Park. However, the police scuttled the struggle by arresting the fasting leaders and admitting in the hospital.
The TDP, YSRCP and even some rebel Congress leaders extended support to the struggle launched by the Left parties by visiting the hunger strike camp and conveyed their whole-hearted support.
After the strike by the Left parties was disrupted by the police it was now the turn of the Telugu Desam to commence an indefinite fast in the Old MLA Quarters. Not satisfied by the explanation of the state government on the floor of Assembly after a marathon debate in the House, TDP legislators marched from the legislature premises to the MLA Quarters began an indefinite fast. The party’s MLAs and MPs began the fast from Tuesday night. The condition of some of the fasting leaders caused concern as their began deteriorating and doctors have been closely monitoring their health condition.
The TDP’s fast entered the third day today and they secured the support of the like-minded parties including the Left parties and YSRCP. Even as the TDP was planning their future course action to intensify the struggle, the Left parties announced that mass hungers strike would commence all over the sate and a State Bandh would be observed on April 9.
