Ram Charan's current focus is only building his mass fan base. He is least bothered about other sections like youth and families. He is repeatedly doing mass masala movies with laced with loads of action and commercial elements. His last two movies Racha and Nayak were good hits, but they are just template masala movies with no freshness whatsoever. Even his two films that are lined up for release in this summer are action based films.
Toofan and Yevadu movies are targeted at hardcore mass movie lovers. The titles itself speak volumes about that. However, Ram Charan says that he is willing to experiment. Recently he told that he will do films like Abhilasha and Rudra Veena and he would also cut down his salary for it. His cousin Allu Arjun did the same for Vedam. But Allu Arjun didn't get the desired result. At that time Ram Charan too thought of doing an offbeat film. Krish was called upon to make a film with him. Later Charan dropped out of it for untold reasons.
Charan also says that he is game for love stories and period films. We doubt it seriously because currently the young star's focus is on bagging as many hits as he can. He is only talking with directors that can make commercial potboilers. He is not even considering directors who can't make commercial movies. So if anyone believed in Charan's words and waiting for that day to come, you may move on for now. Charan may not try something new at least for another couple of years going by the lineup of directors he is willing to work with.
