Mumbai: Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has filed a review petition on Friday in Supreme Court against its March 21 judgement sentencing him to five years in jail.
Recently, Sanjay was granted a four week extension by the Apex Court to surrender and has now filed a review petition in the highest court of the country. According to the reports, a Delhi-based legal team prepared and filed the petition which has to be filed within 30 days of the judgement.
As per the sources, the matter would be heard next week.
On the other hand, the Supreme Court had made it clear that it would grant him no further time. The actor was asked to surrender by May 16.
Dutt has been convicted for three and a half years, for the illegal possession of an automatic rifle AK-56 which is linked to the 1993 serial bomb blasts in Mumbai.
