Tall Hero puts extra burden on Venkatesh

Venkatesh's Shadow has been facing huge financial troubles and the film is finding it tough to see the light of the day. Despite having a finished product in hands, the producers are delaying it due to heavy deficits. As per unconfirmed reports, Shadow has a deficit of well over Rs. 16 crores and the film will release only if the producers risk that much money. Why did Shadow budget went over board?

The cost of production increased as the director didn't compromise on quality. As it is a stylish action flick, the costs multiplied in the production stage. Adding to the woes of the producers, their previous film's losses too incurred on Shadow and the total deficit has gone up. The scenario was same for Dhamarukam, which also had undergone labor pains prior to the release. Dhamarukam had to suffer due to the losses of other films produced by RR Movie Makers.

Shadow producers previous film was none other than Naa Ishtam starring Rana Daggubati. That film was a total washout and the makers couldn't even recover twenty percent of their total investment. Naa Ishtam's estimated losses of Rs. 6 crore is also added to the deficit of Shadow and therefore this film is into deeper trouble. Irony is that Rana is Venkatesh's nephew and the latter had to pay price to the former's failure.
