Tollywood shows its power in Overseas

Tollywood for couple of years started showing its power in overseas now that Baadshah which hit the screens recently in more than 200 screens in US creating records in collections with more than 4 crs. Earlier it was Seetamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, Nayak, Mirchi which shook US box office with collections Rs 8.9 crs, 2.69 crs and 3.48 crs. SVSC, Nayak were screened in around 100 theaters while Mirchi in over 80 theaters.

Exhibitors are over the moon even with the success of small films like Sudigadu which grossed Rs 1.10 crs creating a record for Naresh in UK, Canada, Australia and Middle East. Nikhil, Swathi's Swami Ra Ra also pulled crowds and many feel that it is time Tollywood stars to take overseas market seriously. They cite the difference between Prabhas success tour of Mirchi in US compared to Akshay Kumar or Amir Khan. Hope Stars realise and start promoting their films overseas to tap the market.
