Hyderabad, April 3: YSRCP Honorary President Y. S. Vijayalaxmi on Wednesday vowed to continue her struggle till the state government comes down to roll back the power tariff hike.
Addressing a gathering of supporters who had visited the hunger strike camp in New MLA Quarters on the second day of her fast, Vijayamma ridiculed the allegations being leveled by TDP President N. Chandrababu Naidu against her late husband YSR and holding him responsible for the present power crisis in the state. She pointed out that late YSR had strengthened GENCO and ensured regular power supply to the farmers and the industries. During the YSR regime, there was no power holiday for any sector. Is giving free power to the farm sector a crime committed by late YSR, she asked and pointed out that the present government was responsible for the crops going dry due to non-supply of required power to the farmers and also with the hike in tariff the common man is further burdened.
YSRCP legislator N. Prasanna Kumar Reddy lambasted Chandrababu Naidu by stating that the TDP President has no moral right to criticize late YSR. He said the people of Chittoor district are aware as to how the TDP President had amassed wealth. How did Chandrababu Naidu become a millionaire when he just had two acres of land before joining politics, he asked.
In the meantime doctors conducted medical tests on Vijayamma and other fasting leaders.
