Congress has finally made its stand clear on the Telangana issue. The National party made it clear that Telangana is not part of UPA's National Agenda and it only concerned the state government.
AICC spokesperson PC Chacko came up with these comments in reaction to the questions from media persons on when a decision on the long delayed Telanagana would be taken. PC Chacko's remarks will surely invite protests from the Telanganites.
In January this year, PC Chacko responded to the same issue in a different manner. He opined that Congress is for Telangana and a decision will be taken on the constitutional basis. He even expressed the confidence that a decision would be taken at the earliest.
What's the actually reason behind PC Chacko or High Command's change of mind within just few months? Does Congress have the confidence to retain power in 2014 without announcing Telangana? Is the High Command not considering TRS as a serous threat, after the recent money bags scandal of the pro-Telangana party? Whatever it might be, one this is for sure - Congress isn't going to declare Telangana before 2014 polls.
