Disabled Rights Forum (DRF) on Monday demanded the Congress leadership to sack Chiranjeevi from the Union Cabinet for taking their community for granted.
"Chiru floated PRP in 2008 with the slogan of social justice. A disabled youth has hoisted his party flag and he was even given the first membership of the party. The actor made several tall claims at that time like employment, reservations and pensions for handicapped. After poll debacle in 2009, Chiru winded up his party and sold himself to the ruling Congress for the sake of power. Our community has been cheated by him," alleged Kolli Nageshwara Rao, State DRF President.
DRF have planned to write an open letter to AICC chief Sonia Gandhi seeking Chiru's resignation and also to accept other demands like reservation in the upcoming civic polls, increase of pension from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,500, distribution of land and solutions to few other issues faces by the physically challenged people. The forum even threatened to launch a protest before Sonia's official residence in New Delhi if the demands were neglected.
