Much to his shock, Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt was lodged in the high-security 'Anda' cell that's been specifically designed for terrorist Ajmal Kasab who is involved in the 26/11 Mumbai Attacks after the actor complained of life threat. As the cell has no ventilation, the actor felt suffocated and was seen restless.
Dutt's lawyer appealed to the TADA court to move his client to an another cell with proper ventilation. "My client isn't a terrorist to be lodged in the same cell where Kasab was kept. The 'Anda' cell was so dark that he could't even figure out whether it's day or night," argued the actor's council.
Sanjay Dutt is currently in Athur Road Central Jail that's been used for terrorists and dreaded criminals. He was allowed to carry Bhagavad Gita, Hanuman Chalisa and Ramayana into his barrack. The court permitted him to eat home cooked food, medicines, pillow, mattress and toiletries.
It is known that Dutt was convicted 5 years imprisonment by the TADA court for illegal possession of a 9-mm pistol and an AK-56 rifle that were part of a consignment brought to India for operating Mumbai serial blasts that killed 257 people and injured over 700 in the year 1993.
