Pressure appears to be mounting on the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy as one section of the party is strongly demanding that the tainted ministers be ousted while the other is against it.
Already supporters of Dharmana Prasada Rao, who quit the cabinet, announced that their leader would be constrained to join the YSR Congress, if his resignation was accepted. On Tuesday, Sabita Indra Reddy's followers enforced a bandh in Ranga Reddy district, protesting against her being "victimized ". If the three other ministers - Geeta Reddy, Ponnala Lakshmaiah and Kanna Lakshmi Narayana were also forced to quit, there would be a major revolt in the party say political observers.
On Monday minister Danam Nagender caused a major flutter by stating that if Dharmana and Sabita were to quit the cabinet, the other ministers named in the chargesheet against Y S Jaganmohan Reddy also should be made to quit. He said it was improper to make one or two ministers responsible for the decisions of the cabinet. He said then there would be no sanctity for the decisions of the cabinet.
Now the other three ministers are spending sleepless nights. All the so called tainted ministers are angry about the stand taken by the Congress High Command. They are unhappy that the Congress High Command was making them scapegoats for the decisions taken by the cabinet. They are reportedly incensed that leaders of their own party like V Hanumanta Rao, Palvai Govardhan Reddy and DL Ravindra Reddy were calling them tainted, in sharp contrast to the YSR Congress leaders still claiming their leaders to be honest. They are said to be seriously thinking of joining the Jagan bandwagon, so that they could fight a common cause.
It is being said that the CBI might now arrest Dharmana and Sabita Indra Reddy as the two are no longer ministers. When the CBI sought permission for prosecuting Dharmana, the CBI court said there was no need for getting the clearance of the government. However, the high court ruled that the ministers could not be prosecuted without the permission of the government. Now that the two ministers had quit their posts, CBI is likely to arrest them, as soon as the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy accepts their resignations.
The Chief Minister is said to be in a dilemma on whether or not to accept the resignations of Dharmana and Sabita.
