Google Glass Comes as a Distinct Innovation
The Optical world especially on the product innovation of eye wear spectacles has grown remarkably today towards smart appearances and with improved facilities rendered by technology. If we could check the advent of the smart glasses, it has opened our eyes not only to visibility around us but also to extra sensibility around us with enhanced knowledge. Perhaps ‘human eye’ being considered as one of the five primary senses, the advent of smart glasses from Google are coming probably as a ‘sixth sense’ perception to the modern practical world, where communication is preferred without any barrier. The ‘Google Glass’ even comes as a distinct innovation in the market, and expected to provide more benefits to the ‘working professionals’.

Mary Lou Jepsen is currently working hard on a top-secret successor to Google Glass, while at the same sharing the ideas about the product  to the audience at the MIT’s EmTech conference, held last Thursday.

She said: “Future wearable technology will be so compelling, that no one will be able to stop its widespread adoption”. She highlighted the speed at which you can access information on wearable computers “addictive.”. “It’s basically a way of amplifying you. I’ve thought for many years that a laptop is an extension of my mind. Why not have it closer to my mind, and on me all the time?” she added. For readers information, Jepsen is the head of the display division at Google’s “Google X” skunkwork. According to Jepsen, this division is also referred to as “the hardware division of Google.”

For those who are disinterested on getting  “addicted” to wearable technology, Eric Schmidt, chairman of Google’s board, says that critics of Glass are “afraid of change” and probably could adapt to the change. Further Jepsen suggests that wearables like Google Glass will help people suffering from neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s, by automatically identifying people in the wearer’s field of view.

In future, we’ll all be cyborgs, says a Google engineer who is working on the technology that would enable to achieve it. Let us wait to see that ‘cyber’day!
