    E24telugu.com Rating : 2/5

Prabhu Deva has been associated with some high octane action entertainers in the past. He is now back with yet another action film in R..Rajkumar. This is also the first time that Shahid Kapoor will be seen in an out and out action avatar. Also starring Sonakshi Sinha and Sonu Soood, R..Rajkumar has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

    Story :-
Rajkumar(Shahid Kapur) is an aimless youth who starts working with an drug baron in Shivraj(Sonu Sood). Rajkumar impresses Shivraj with his heroics and soon becomes his best aide.

This is also the time when Rajkumar falls in love with Chanda(Sonakshi Sinha). When things seem to be going fine, Shivraj decides to marry Chanda because of an internal conflict.

After a certain turn of events, Shivraj comes to know that both Chanda and Rajkumar are in love and gets furious. Rest of the story is as to how Rajkumar goes against his own boss and manages to marry Chanda.

    Plus Points :-
Shahid Kapur has done a lot of hard work for this film. He is particularly good in dancing department and showcases immense energy. You can see an different style of Shahid’s dancing in this film.

All the romantic and teasing scenes between Shahid and Sonakhi have been designed and executed well. Like in all Prabhu Deva films, the action part is top notch and gives a chance for Shahid to showcase his angry side.

First half of the film is very entertaining with some peppy songs and comedy. Sonu Sood does his best in an negative role.

    Minus Points :-
After an entertaining first half, tempo of the film drops down drastically. The plot loses its hold and the films drags from there on.

Even though Shahid has worked hard in the action part, he looks unconvincing as an action hero. His chocolate boy looks dominate his angry avatar.

The fights, songs and all the unnecessary sequences take center stage in the second half. This is where R..Rajkumar takes a sever beating. Tollywood star Sri Hari and Ashish Vidhyardhi do not get much to showcase.

    Technical Aspects :-
Music of R..Rajkumar is very peppy and entertaining. All the songs have been designed and shot extremely well. Dialogues of the film are just about OK as some of Shahid’s one liners look over the top.

Camera work is pretty decent and showcases the rural atmosphere well. The hit number Saree Ke Fall Sa has been exceptionally. Choreography in top notch.

Screenplay is below par as Prabhu Deva loses the grip after a certain point of time. Prabhu Deva’s direction is pretty ordinary as he could not do much with an very ordinary script.

As usual R..Rajkumar has many scenes copied from hit south films which is an usual practice in Prabhu Deva films.

    Verdict :-
Overall, R..Rajkumar is an over the top and loud action entertainer from Prabhu Deva. Other than a peppy first half and some foot tapping numbers, R..Rajkumar has nothing much to offer. You can safely ignore this film this weekend.
