Hyderabad, March 21: Congress member from Secunderabad Assembly Constituency, Jayasudha on Thursday appealed to the State Government to strictly implement the Anti-Rape Act as passed in parliament and thus make the state a role model in tackling the menace of crime against women.
Making a point in the Assembly during zero hour, Jayasudha while lauding the passage of the bill in parliament, regretted that the statue did not fix a time limit for probing into offences against women. She wanted the setting up of a separate legal cell and an all women complaint cell to assist the victims of such heinous crimes to get justice at the earliest. She also wanted that necessary measures should be taken to educate the people, especially in rural areas, regarding the Anti-Rape Act.
