The speciality of Sobhan Babu in Tollywood is unique. He was very close to the hearts of Telugu film audience. He enjoyed his life in peace in his last days without even being seen in the industry. Audience went into tears when they got to know about his demisal. In his long journey, he not just excelled in film, but had achieved a lot in many fields to have become a complete personality.
Sobhan Babu is one of the rare heroes in the Telugu film industry who could equally balance his family life along with profession in his career of Three and half decades at a stretch. After acting for 37 years, Sobhan thought to retire from films. He later did not agree though he got many offers to act. There were also a few producers who offered him with blank cheques, but he did not agree. He spend his time with his family members till his last minutes.
He breathed his last on 20th March 2008, at his own house in Chennai.
