As per fresh reports, Aashiqui 2 has received positive reviews from the critics till yet. Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh has awarded the film 4 out of 5 stars praising it for its pure and fresh romantic theme. So, for now all seems set for Aashiqui 2 as far as the reviews matter but would it be able to please the audience too. Currently, if nothing the movie is a treat for the romantics and music lovers for its already charting songs and addictive music . The film’s songs have received more than 5 million YouTube views till date and also the movie’s trailer garnered more than 3 million views on YouTube upon its launch.
One more factor i.e., solo Bollywood release seems to help the movie at box office as recently released Ek Thi Daayan, Nautanki Saala and Commando have already faded at box office, so it would be clear run for Aashiqui 2 at box office. According to the early estimates, Aashiqui 2 is expected to gross around Rs5-6 cr on its opening day which should lead the film for an opening weekend of around Rs17-20 cr, if it holds up well based on reviews and word of mouth also which plays an crucial role.
One negative news for the movie is the release of much-awaited and most anticipated Hollywood Biggie ‘IronMan-3′ on 26th April in India with Aashiqui 2 which should definitely affect its business to an extent. Whereas regular typical romantics, music lovers and Bollywood lovers will go for Aashiqui 2, IronMan 3 is ready to register an explosive opening for itself too and may be better than Aashiqui 2. For a last few years, Big Hollywood films have been doing great business in India and the examples are ‘Mission Impossible-Ghost protocol’, James Bond ‘Skyfall’, ‘The Amazing SpiderMan’, ‘Avengers’ and ‘Life of Pi’, all of them grossing more than Rs25 cr in their opening weekend in India only.
