Is heroine Anjali who has been missing since Monday, in love?
This is the question being discussed in film circles for the past few days. Reports said that she fell in love with Dr. Solmon Anil, a US based doctor of Chennai. Dr. Anil has been Anjali’s personal physician and the two fell in love. It is learnt that Anjali decided to marry him and settle down.
However, her aunt Bharati Devi disapproved the marriage and this has caused differences between the two.
Anjali shot into fame after ‘Sitamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’. She hiked her fee also after the film. For SVSC she reportedly receied Rs. 20 lakh and after the film was a hit and she earned good name for her performance, naturally producers started approaching her with offers. She reportedly hiked her fee to Rs. 50 lakhs.
Anjali’s aunt Bharati Devi got worried about her marriage plans as it would mean separation of the girl from them. Even if she chose to continue acting after marriage, she would not have any control over her income.
Bharati Devi herself said that she divided Anjali’s income into three parts. While she took one, Anjali got one and her mother the other. This meant that Anjali was only getting one third of her hard-earned money. The one-third income set apart for her is also in the control of her adopted mother who claimed to be depositing it in the bank. In the circumstances, if Anjali marries and leaves the family Bharati Devi and her husband Suri Babu would be left high and dry. Bhasrti tried her best to prevent this marriage. When Anjali came to Hyderabad for film shooting on Sunday, she sent her husband aSuri Babu with her, to keep an eye on her.
The two had a heated exchange in the Dasapalla hotel and Suri Babu reportedly caught Anjali by her hair and beat her up with his chappal.
According to Anjali’s brother Ravi Sankar she herself told him how she was tortured and beaten up in the hotel, leading to her decision to leave. The telephonic conversation of Anjali and her brother was telecast by a TV channel.
Though it was not yet established where Anjali was, her producers were informed about her safety. It is learnt that Anjali might herself go to some top police officer and address the media in his presence in the coming days, narrating the entire story.
