The song titled Apna Bombay Talkies captures the essence of Bollywood by bringing together 20 Bollywood stalwarts. The number features industry's biggies like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Vidya Balan, Rani Mukerji, Farhan Akhtar, Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Imran Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor, Sridevi, Akshay Kumar, Karisma Kapoor and Juhi Chawla.
20 different singers have lent their voices to the special number and what makes the song more interesting is that every actor's appearance is accompanied by their most famous songs, being played, in the background. The track has been choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant and while all the actors are seen dressed in black, the actresses have worn golden attires.
Bombay Talkies is a collection of four short stories, which have been helmed by Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar and Dibakar Banerjee. The film, which is a tribute to the Indian cinema, stars Rani Mukerji, Randeep Hooda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Saqib Saleem, Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif among others and is slated to release on May 3, 2013.
