Allu Sirish’s much awaited debut movie, Gauravam got released today with lot of expectations.As everybody knows,Sirish is the younger son of mega producer Allu Aravind & brother of Stylish Star Allu Arjun.Prakash Raj has produced this film under his home production banner.The story line is quite unique.The Gauravam team should be appreciated for taking this dare step.
Story :
The movie is all about honour killings that are still persistent in some of the remote villages in India .Allu Sirish’s (Arjun) friend by name Shanmugam gets disappeared from his village suddenly with out any notice.He was in love with his village’s land lord Pasupathy(Prakash Raj) & he is an upper caste man.
Sirish goes in search of his friend and tries to find out what might have happened to his friend in that Village.Prakash Raj has a son who is also cruel minded.Both of them tells Sirish that they will give and take the lives for the pride of their family.They are not bothered about their girl.However,Sirish wants to unravel the mystery and continues his hunt.
In this whole process,Prakash Raj’s family crate hurdles to Sirish and delays the process.Even the police will be helpless since Prakash Raj has more political influence.Police tries to mediate between the two parties and asks them to leave the case with out any further mishap and killings.But Prakash Raj’s son is more cruel and stubborn.He even wants to kill Sirish.
Sirish goes back to his place and motivates all his engineering friends and brings them to the village and starts to fight against Prakash Raj’s family.Slowly the issue gains the attention of the media and with the fuss & buzz that comes along takes the message to the centre.Nasser played the role of a union minister & his daughter Yami Gautham donned the role of a lawyer.Finally the mystery unfolds with the help of all these characters .
The hero Allu Sirish wins over the local & the national media for his audacious fight against the caste imbalances that are still persisting in the society.
Plus Points :
1.Script is Unique.
2.Prakash Raj’s performance is very good.
3.Allu Sirish’s acting is O.K ,since this is his first movie.There is lot of scope for improvement.
4.Yami Gautham did well.So as Nasser.
5.Direction is decent.
6.Music and BG score is O.K.
Minus Points :
1.Climax is a bit average.It is predictable.
2.The chasing of the case is shot in a normal way.
3.There is no excitement around the plot.
Technical Aspects :
Songs in Gouravam are below average. Camera work is pretty good and showcases the village atmosphere well. Dialogues are simple. Screenplay by Radha Mohan is good in the second half but it could have been better in the first half.
Final Word :
Overall,a decent movie. It came up with a good message as it emphasised on equality of everyone in the society and these castes should not come in the way of individual’s rights .
A one time watchable movie.
