The alleged kidnapping of the baby on Saturday last has not caused panic but drew state-wide attention with people praying for the safety of the child and appealing to the “kidnappers” not to hurt or harm the innocent baby.
The sleuths of the Central Crime Station , who took up the kidnapping case as a challenge, based on credible information from clues gathered earlier traced the baby in the house of one Ravulu Bharath in Subashnagar of Trimulghery, Secunderabad, this morning.
The police arrested Bharath, an employee of Reddy Labs and stated to be family friend of the parents of the baby girl, and recovered the child. The hale and hearty baby was handed over to her parents by the City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma.
It might be recalled here that T.Sujana wife of T. Dixit, was returning home on Shivam Road with her baby Sraghvi after visiting a doctor on Saturday night. As per the complaint lodged by the mother of the child some unknown persons on a motor-cycle snatched Sraghvi and sped away.
The incident triggered off a sensation and attention state-wide and it became a challenging task for the police to unravel the mystery as there was no ransom demand from the alleged kidnappers nor the parents had any enemies.
After diligently gathering clues and working out various theories for the filmi-type kidnap drama, the police traced the alleged kidnapper to be Ravulu Bharath, a family friend of the child’s parents and arrested him and recoverd the child.
The Commissioner of Police briefing media, after handing over the baby to her parents, said that the accused Bharath was married but his wife divorced him because they were childless. Since then he was in a state of depression, the Commissioner of Police added. He parried all other queries he motive behind kidnapping the child except stating that further interrogation and verification of the accused was in progress to ascertain the facts.
Though the police are claiming that the motive behind the kidnapping has yet to be ascertained, the fact that the accused is a family friend of the parents of the baby girl is a pointer to suspect that there was something more to it than meets the eye in the kidnap drama!!
