Lahore: The Pakistani officials on Monday clearly notified that no proposal of sending Sarabjit Singh abroad for treatment has been under consideration as the Indian death row convict is receiving the best treatment in Lahore's Jinnah Hospital, as per reports.
Sarabjit Singh is critical in deep coma after six prisoners attacked him on his head with brick and sharp weapons while he was being shifted to another cell inside the jail premises.
Since the doctors declared that Sarabjit's chances of survival are slim, media reports are saying that Pakistan authority along with the medical board is thinking of taking him abroad for better treatment. But rubbishing the reports, the board said "no such proposal has been under consideration".
An official of the Pakistan province even informed, "In fact, the medical board has no mandate (to decide on sending Sarabjit abroad)."
The medical board looking for Sarabjit comprises of Shaukat, Postgraduate Medical Institute, Principal Anjum Habib Vohra, Jinnah Hospital neuro department head Zafar Chaudhry and King Edward Medical University neuro-physician Naeem Kasuri.
