    Sanjay Dutt gets four more weeks to surrender

    Mumbai: The Supreme Court had deferred the hearing of the mercy petition filed by Sanjay Dutt for today April 17, and has given four more weeks to the actor to surrender.

    Sanjay, who was supposed to surrender by April 18, had asked the Supreme Court a six month extension so that he can complete his projects worth Rs 278 crore.

    Jr Dutt has been convicted for three and a half years, for the illegal possession of an automatic rifle AK-56 which is linked to the 1993 serial bomb blasts in Mumbai.

    As per the decision of the special bench, the actor will now have to surrender by May 16th.
