Mehar Ramesh,the director of Kantri,Shakti & Billa has come up again with a movie called Shadow.Venky starrer Shadow has been the talk of the city,at least the talk of the town for the past few days.It is a high budget film as everyone can estimate from the trailers.Tapsee Pannu is the heroine.After SVSC,Venky has decided to prove himself as a solo hero.One could say,he took a brave decision by giving a chance to Mehar,who has been running in a bad patch due his earlier flop movies.Lets see the story line and get in to the Analyzation.
Story :
The movie starts from the year 1993.There will be a don by name Nana Bhai.He has two brothers by names: Lala & Jeeva.He has two good followers by names: Robert & Shakeel.Nana Bhai plans Mumbai blasts.Naga Babu(Screen Name: Raghu Ram) is a journalist but works for Nana Bhai, to get all the secrets of underworld mafia.He does that secret operation by name ‘Shadow’.Raghu has two kids.One boy and a Girl.Boy’s name is Raja Ram(Venkatesh).
Raghu Ram gathers all the info about the underworld mafia and hands the documents to his co-brother.Soon Nana gets to know this and Kills Raghu in front of Raja Ram(Jr.Venky).Raja’s mother and his sister gets attacked by the mafia.Raja thinks that they both are dead and from his child hood he develops a severe revenge on the Mafia Don-Nana Bhai and his gang.
Nasser understands Raja’s pain and joins hands with the kid to eliminate Nana and his gang.As,he is also one of the victim ‘coz of that gang.Then the story shifts to malaysia.Nan Bhai will be operating from Malaysia.Venky changes his name to ‘Shadow’(His father’s secret mission name).
After nearly 20years,The story shifts to Malaysia.The characters Dharma Varapu Subhramanyam (Screen Name: Peter Penchalaih),Bhagvan (Screen Name: Kamma Reddy Kapu Raju) & M.S Narayana(Dr.Donga Srinivas Rao) M.S’s pet name is: Psycho Sinu will get introduced along with the Cute Heroine Taapse Pannu(Screen Name: Madhubala) in Malaysia.Hero Srikanth(Screen Name: Pratap) also comes malaysia.He is an A.C.P & will come to malaysia to get hold of Mafia.He comes to know that Mafia planned a Bomb Blast in Hyderabad.So he will be on a mission to save the people from that Bomb Blast.
Venky gets intro to Taapsee due to an unfortunate incident.Eventualy,they both will get to know each other and Taapsee falls in love with him @ the first sight.
Nana Bhai’s well wishers Rabert & Shakeel will get killed by Shadow(Venky).One of the brother of Nana – Lala will be caught by the police and goes in to the police custody.Mean while,due an accident,Venky will lose his mind and starts behaving like a kid.
Venky sees his mother,he realizes who he is and starts taking revenge on the Don’s gang.He successfully kills all the Mafia Gang and saves his co-brother and his family.He takes the help of the Home Minister: Jaya Prakash.Some scenes with Jaya Prakash & M.S. are hillarious.
Plus Points:
1.All the comedians did very well.
2.Venky did good in parts.There is not much scope for his action.
3.First Half has some comedy.Antyakshari seen between the comedians and Venky is enjoyable.Something similar to Gabbar Singh.
4.Venky’s imitation as hero Raja Shekar & Pawan Kalyan is Very Good.
5.Photgraphy is Good.
6.Couple of songs are Good.
Minus Points :
1.There is a huge list of flaws in this movie.To start with:
2.Direction: Mehar Ramesh doesn’t have any clue about where he is taking the script.The script is very old fashioned.It should have come some 20years back.Fights are too much and people will be shooting all around like mad.But Hero will be running away as if the opponents are throwing some flowers on him.
3.Music is O.K. not that great.Thaman seems to be running out of variety.
4.Apart from bits and pieces of comedy,the movie is very boring.
5.The audience in the theater started laughing on some serious scenes.This is a small example! about the boringness of the movie.
Overall a below average flick for Venky.Am afraid if Venky gets a block buster from the rest of his life as a solo hero.Also,I wonder about one thing.There are lot of talented people around, in the industry trying day and night to get the opportunities.But how come the same directors who takes flop movies gets the chances.That too high budget movie chances!! Alas!! What a wonder!!
Technical Aspects :
Cinematography by Prasad Murella and Shyam K Naidu is not up to the mark. The visuals don’t have a rich feel, despite the grand and extravagant locations. Marthand K Venkatesh’s editing is very bad, but should the editor or the director take the blame for this? Thaman’s background music is ok, but the songs are just very average.
Meher Ramesh’s direction is pedestrian. ‘Shakti’ is a much better effort when compared to this.
Final Word :
This Shadow is not worth watching @ all !!Am sure,You will forget your own Shadow after you watch this one.You can watch it though!! But @ your own RISK!!
