Ram Charan Bollywood debut film ‘Zanjeer’ hit yet another speed breaker on its way to release. First, it was the dispute between producer Amith Mehra and his brothers over the rights was settled amicably then Sanjay finished his portion well before his sentencing date.
However, the new obstacle came from an unexpected corner from writer duo Salim and Javed. They claim that they hold the rights to the copyright of the original. According to them, the producer of the 1973 film, Prakash Mehra was allowed to produce the movie based on their script only once and any reproduction of the story would need their permission.
Now, we hear that writers Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar have filed an application in the Bombay High Court seeking a stay on the release of the remake. The case will now be heard on April 17. If you think writers are giving hard time to producer for the money, you are wrong. The law suit doesn't mention any compensation in their lawsuit.
Let’s hope all the legal issues will clear and Ram Charan film will hit the screens in Bollywood and Tollywood as announced!
