His visit attained importance in the context of the CBI including Sabita’s name in the charge-sheet in Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s disproportionate assets case. The High Command, which had earlier permitted the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy to retain Dharmana Prasada Rao in his cabinet despite his facing similar charges, might take a view in Sabita’s case. Sources say that Sabita’s case is different as she is the head of the home department, law protecting wing of the government.
Botsa also would explain to the Congress leaders the circumstances under which power tariff was hiked. He may also meet the Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, who is trying to revamp the AICC, say sources.
