No one is sure whether it carries any substance, but the whole country and especially the social media has been abuzz with reports that the verdict for the whole country during elections will be viewed through the prospect of Narendra Modi vs Rahul Gandhi.
But if one looks at the poll pattern and success factors in the state, it is clear that only domestic politics and anti-incumbency factor played a major role but not Rahul Gandhi or Narendra Modi. Congress was already expected to win the state, so there is nothing special that Rahul had done for the victory while any way BJP was supposed to loose, hence Narendra Modi’s failure is ruled out. Though it is too early to predict National elections pattern next year, this results however proves that voters make a choice looking at how the state is governed and they simply don’t for the charismatic leaders who have been created by the media and some hype.
