Etawah: Violence against the fairer crowd is seemingly not going to stop as again, in Mulayam Singh Yadav’s hometown, a 21 year old college student has been raped and set on fire by a person known to her. Samajwadi Party, of which Mulayam Singh Yadav is the chief, rules the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Police informed on Tuesday that the girl was invited to the accused’s home where she was raped. Later, when the girl resisted the rape and threatened to report the matter to the police, the man wet her with kerosene and set her on fire. Village hospital, where the victim was taken, referred her to a hospital in Safai as 80 percent body suffered burns. Case of rape and attempt to murder has been registered, although no arrest has been made so far.
Girl’s sister who also knows her sister’s boyfriend (alleged rapist), quotes, "He called her; she went because she trusted him. They raped her there and the boy said he wouldn't marry her... She came back running and was on fire." The brother of the victim says that the police has not at all been helpful in the case.
