TV 9 group is running Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati, Marathi and English channels. In Telugu, the company has TV 1 also apart from TV 9. A report of Business Line says that the Sun TV channel was trying to buy all these channels valued at Rs. 150 crore.
TV 9 has good market in AP and Karnataka. Sun Network has a market of Rs. 19,000 crore in the south with 32 channels. Apart from Tamilnadu, the brand has also market in AP, Kerala and Karnataka. The Sun group hopes to improve its ambit by buying TV 9, which has top market value in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. It was earlier said that TV 9 had estimated its value at Rs. 500 crore. Now it should be seen if the Sun network would be able to buy it for Rs. 150 crore.
