New trend in Tollywood - 'Area Rights'

Tollywood film industry started with the heroes like NTR and ANR. At that time, both the remuneration levels of the hero and the budget of the film used to be a bit low. But things turned interesting with time and Tollywood became a big entertainment industry in the South. According to the latest scenario, Tollywood is taking new steps to move forward as the top stars of Tollywood are buying rights of some areas over A.P instead of their huge remunerations.

Now a days the budgets of the films are touching the skies and the profits are beyond imagination. From a small scale, this film industry is slowly defeating Kollywood to move above Bollywood. Chiranjeevi started the tradition of taking rights of certain areas of the state as remuneration. According to sources it is said that Tamil stars Surya and Vijay etc. take Telugu rights as extra remuniration.

As Tollywood movies box office collections touching 100 crores, heroes want to cash their craze by taking rights of certain areas. The hero of a respective flick may take either Nizam or Ceded rights as they are highly yielding ones to the producer. In this case the producers need not pay the whole amount at the start of the movie as remuneration itself. And for an actor who's market is average in numbers, he gets less remuneration according to his market value.

This trend is now on progress in Tollywood and majority of the heroes are aiming to shift to this new trend. So, let see what change can this bring to the industry ?
