Reports suggest that Bhojpuri actor and singer Manoj Tiwary and Kaimur district magistrate in Bihar, Arvind Kumar Singh on Tuesday unveiled life-sized (5 .5 feet) statue of the Master Blaster at Tiwary’s village Atarwalia. The white marble statue, which dons the official blue jersey of the Indian national cricket team, weighs 850 kg and was crafted at Rajasthan’s Nathdwara at the cost of Rs 8.5 lakh. It has been installed on a 10 feet high brick platform.
Meanwhile, a statue for Sonia Gandhi is also being planned in Secunderabad by the Congress MLA from Secunderabad Cantonment Dr Shankar Rao as she accepted the formation of Telangana state. He had also approached the district authorities and government for a piece of land to go ahead with Sonia temple project. Why he, several other Congressmen of the region are willing to construct a Sonia temple in every district, no sooner it becomes a reality and gets Presidential nod.
In the past, a controversial God man had constructed Indira Gandhi temple in Rajahmundry. Today it is in dilapidated condition and none bothers about its maintenance – neither the so called God man, or Congress loyalists or the local administration.
