It is foolish to be still giving priority to English even after so many years of Independence. In these modern times, English is a must. None would oppose it. But, bringing in changes in such a way that the regional candidates have to face injustice.
There was a protest on this from the beginning. But either UPSC or the Centre had cared about it. Finally after serious criticisms by the oppositions in the Parliament, a movement was seen in the Government. If the same was done long back, many aspirants wouldn't have got into depression. Examination should bring out the talent of the applicant.
Civils exams are not just for testing the English skills. It is to be thought of twice while taking a decision on this key exam in the country. If required, advises are to be taken from the experts related to this. This is followed even in the developed nations. But is not the same in India, it is at the will of rulers. It is so worst that we need to depend on the mercy of the rulers.
