BC creamy layer limit is 6 Lachs now !

The people belonging to OBCs earning more that 6 lachs per annum will not be eligible now to enjoy the reservations in education and employment. The cabinet ministers committee has decided  as per this. It was decided to increase the present limit of 4.5 lachs to 6 lachs. Which means those BCs who earn more than 50000 Rs, a  month will  not have the reservations from now.

Many Ministers have opined that this is very low. Central Ministers Narayanaswamy, Veerappa Moily and Vayalar Ravi had opined that the limit should have been hiked to 7 lachs.

In cities the BC creamy layer was limited up to 12 lach rupees and that in villages should be 9 lachs as per the instructions of National commission for backward class recently. But the committee of Chidambaram has decided now that irrespective of the location, it should be 6 lach rupees.
