Mahabubnagar, March 22: Alampur court rejected the bail petitions of Telangana leaders who were arrested in connection with the Sadak Bandh on Thursday.
The bail petitions of the 'T'JAC convener Kodandaram and 8 others including MLAs Eetela Rajender and Jupalli Krishna Rao came before the court on Friday. The judge said they could not be granted bail as the cases registered against them were non-bailable. The judge told the lawyers of the leaders to file the petition in the district court.
It may be recalled that police had registered cases against the JAC and TRS leaders under different sections. When these leaders filed bail petitions on Thursday they were posted to Friday. The leaders are presently lodged in the Mahabubnagar district jail.
Meanwhile, Secretariat Telangana employees union strongly protested the arrest of Telangana leaders during the Sadak Bandh. Employees wore black badges and staged protest during the lunch break. They raised slogans against the government for foisting cases against Telangana leaders. They demanded that the cases be withdrawn immediately.
