Apparently Mahesh starring in the print and video ads of Royal Stag, a premium liquor brand, has shocked his fan Amru Nayak. He filed a complaint with HRC today expressing his objection for Mahesh's starring in those ads being a celebrity who can inspire and influence lots of people. HRC has taken up the complaint and ordered DGP to furnish them a full-report by June 5th. Film industry expressed shock over this development.
Technically this case might not become a legal hurdle for Mahesh. Because the advertisement he is part of actually advertises about Seagram's Royal Stag Mega Music CDs. Of course, that is a tactic by the brand to avoid legal complications, but surely this might affect Mahesh's brand image.
