After becoming Union Minister, Megastar K Chiranjeevi is frequently meeting the big-wigs of Congress in Delhi. Sitting with people like Ghulam Azad and Vayilar Ravi is a day to day activity for him now. With this proximity, it is heard that high-command is tilting towards Chiru and is in the process of naming him as CM candidate in 2014. Earlier during YSR's regime, Kiran used to interact with high-command in the same way as he is the only 'English speaking' MLA from our state on behalf of YSR. Incidentally that fetched him a CM post. Now, Chiru might also get a chance in the same way, say Congress insiders. Is this move not suicidal for the party?
If Chiru is declared as CM candidate now itself, then people like Sasidhar Reddy, KK, Jana Reddy and DL Ravindra will stop working for Congress. Already they are unhappy that Kiran was given a chance despite his inexperience. In that case, Chiru is a fresher in politics though he is in Minister post at the moment.
Political analysts say that Congress should first focus on winning seats in 2014 elections and they can then decided about CM candidate if at all there is a majority on their side. But naming Chiru now itself is definitely suicidal.
