Bikaner: Another horrendous rape incident took place in Bikaner on Monday which has raised several questions on humanity and society. A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her school bus driver when she was on the way to her school.
According to the reports, the girl, who is a student of class X, accused the bus driver Rajesh Kumar (35) of sexually assaulting her. The police have arrested Kumar after the victim lodged an FIR against him in Khajuwala police station.
"The girl was on her way to the school on April 26 when the driver met and offered her lift to the school. The driver was alone in the bus. He gave a sedative-laced drink to the girl and raped her," said CO Babu Lal.
Next morning, the accused left the girl near Khajuwala hospital and drove away.
"The girl narrated the incident to her family following which the FIR was lodged against him," the CO added.
In another incident, a hostel warden of a visually challenged institute, run by an NGO, was detained for allegedly seeking sexual favors from a girl.
Warden Prashant Vyas (35) was allegedly forcing the girl to have a friendship and sexual relation with him. "The warden was arrested yesterday on complaint by the management of the institute," said Additional DCP Anil Tank.
Khajuwala (Bikaner) MLA Vishwanath on Monday demanded to remove the staff of Khajuwala police station after the rape incidents in area.
"Police officials are not working effectively in the area due to which the crime is rising," said the MLA, warning of an agitation.
