Selena Gomez receives racist comments after MTV Awards performance

Los Angeles: Taking over each other’s culture is in trend these days but it’s difficult to fit in another person shoes. Selena was seen in a desi avatar on MTV Movie Award, dressed in a red attire along with a dupatta and one thing which did not went unnoticed was the sparkling ‘bindi’ but there were things that didn’t go down the throats of few.

After her performance at the award function, several comments surfaced that were racist in nature and related to the Bollywood approach Selena’s performance.

One of the body, covering the awards qouted, "We could go our entire lives without seeing another white girl in a bindi and that would be completely fine," said Popdust. Another comment by @reach guest came as: "im watching the MTV movie awards now. wtf Selena? Really. bollywood community r u pissed because you should be."

The song opens with a male voice singing in Punjabi, then we can see Selena with some mujra-stic step, also the thumka which resembles the dance steps of Madhuri's Maar Daala with some other classical moves.

Many stars that performed at the event have a global fan following and criticizing them on a cultural platform is unsportsmanlike. Putting up a show that projects a certain community is only thanking-revert given up by these stars to that community.
