Will BJP team up with TDP in Telangana?

After KCR dismissing BJP’s overtures of an alliance of Pro-Telangana forces in the Telangana region, sources now say that BJP is looking for a possible tie up with TDP in the run upto 2014 elections. Though they have now become estranged after the debacle of their alliance in 2004 and have also made statement against each other for close to nine years, nothing seems to have changed.

Sources say there is no love lost between the two as Naidu era in the state conducing with Vajpayee era at the Centre is viewed as Golden period by supporters of economic reforms in the state. Likewise, their bonhomie also dates back to the era of NTR in 1984 when he had joined hands with all anti-congress forces including BJP.

Though it looks like the TDP is weak in the region, the cadre of the party is still strong and so is the cadre of BJP. Even TDP is reportedly enthusiastic about the alliance, for which former TDP leader Nagam is actively getting involved. In a way, this looks like the teaming up of anti-KCR forces minus Congress and YSRCP in Telangana.
