    Sanjay Dutt fears life threat | Sanjay Dutt wants to surrender  before Yerwada Prison | Sanjay Dutt special petition to TADA judge about surrendering before Special court

    Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt on Tuesday appealed to the TADA court to allow him to surrender before the Yerwada jail in Pune instead of the special court as he is facing threat to life from fundamentalist groups.

    A petition has been filed in the regard before special TADA Judge GA Snap seeking permission for surrendering before Yerwada prison. Hearing the actor's application, the Judge has asked the CBI to file a reply and posted the the next hearing on the petition to Wednesday.

    Sanjay Dutt was sentenced to five years imprisonment after the court found him guilty of using the fire are whim were imported to India from Pakistan for using them in the 1993 Mumbai Blasts. About 257 people have died in the serial blasts and hundreds of people were injured. The actor has once served one-and-half years in jail, so he has to be behind the bars for the remaining three-and-half years.

    It is known that the Apex court had dismissed his plea seeking review of its judgement (sentencing him to five years in jail). Dutt was supposed to surrender last month, but upon hearing his pleas the court has granted him four more weeks to serve the jail term. He will be surrendering on May 16th to undergo his remaining jail term.
