Story:
Govind (Manchu Manoj) decides to commit suicide and reaches a hill top. Just he was about to commit suicide, he meets software engineer Venkat (Posani Krishna Murali). Venkat reveals the reason for his suicide attempt and finds out why Govind came for suicide.
Govind starts narrating his story and his affairs with four beautiful ladies Vaidehi (Simran Mundi), Mumtaz (Sahkshi Chaudari), Mary (Anu Priya), Stacy (Rachel). To know more about Govind's love affairs and the reason behind his suicide decision and did Govind end up committing suicide, one should watch Potugadu on big screen.
Performance:
Manoj performed well in his role. His dialogue delivery is good and his voice resembles Mohan Babu in some scenes. His comedy scenes with Posani came out well. A little bit of fine tuning in his expressions would do well for him.
Posani entertained all with his comedy punches. All the four debutante heroines Simran, Anu Priya,Sakshi Chaudari and Rachel turned red hot on silver screen. Rachel being a foreigner outscored all of them with her glamour.
Others like Chandra Mohan, Ali, Vinod Kumar, Tagubotu Ramesh, Satyam Rajesh, Srinivas Reddy performed according to the script.
Technical Aspects:
Production values are good. Music and background score by Achu attracts masses. Cinematography is excellent. Editing is quite efficient.
Dialogues are quite entertaining. Overall Pawan Wadeyar emerged successful on his debut in Tollywood.
Plus Points:
Manoj's action
Sunil's voice over
Posani's performance
Entertaining elements
Mass songs, humour
Minus Points:
Dragging second half
Unconvincing plot
Offending dialogues
Analysis:
Pawan Wadeyar who directed the original Govindaya Namaha in Kannada blended the story making necessary changes in the original according to the telugu nativity. He emerged successful in his attempt.
Entire film is filled with humour and though Manoj's reason to commit suicide is not convincing, people don't give much importance due to the entertainment quotient in the film. Except for few dragged scenes and some dialogues which offend some religions and its followers, the film goes off in a smooth pace.
Final Word:
Potugadu shows his hilarious power.
