In the early days heroes used to follow traditional style. NTR from Chiranjeevulu to Gajadonga, ANR from Pooja Phalam to Andala Ramudu. Both the heroes mixed class and mass touch in their roles. They even experimented like NTR in playing blind and physically handicapped roles in Chiranjeevulu and Kalasiunte Kaladau Sukham.
ANR's 9 roles in Navaratri, negative shades in Hemahemilu fall in the same category. During those times stars didnot try rough looks like takeing off their shirts or growing beards. With the change of times heroes started trying different getups with long hairs, flexing biceps, like in Shadow, Yamadonga, Raghavendra, Mass, Mutha Mestri etc.
Everyone were under impression that rough mass look ensures success which is not true.Now it seems stars have realised that they shouldn't be confined one particular section. So Mahesh ,NTR,Pawan Kalyan,Allu Arjun,Ram Charan, Raviteja changed their style in films like Seetamma Vakitlo, Brindavanam, Jalsa,Attarintiki Daaredi, Iddarammayilato, Orange, Sarochcharu.
They impressed all with their performance though some films failed. Even Nagarjuna who did Don, Mass,Boss,Ragada came with Greeku Veerudu. Venkatessh also changed his style after Dharmachakram with films like Nuvvu Naku Nachchavu, Eenadu, Adavari Matalaku Arthalu Verule, Seetamma Vakitlo etc.
